The company’s newest location represents its twelfth store opening in the past 10 years.

The Woods Coffee announced today the opening of their newest coffee shop, inside the Sehome Haggen grocery store in Bellingham, which will open to the public on Tuesday, November 15. The company’s twelfth location represents a first-time partnership between these two Whatcom County brands.“The Woods Coffee has long admired the Haggen brand and what it stands for,” said Wes Herman, owner of The Woods Coffee. “We’re proud to be in the Sehome Haggen, and we’re looking forward to serving the local community from this spot.” Previously, this space was home to two other coffee shops: first Starbucks Coffee Company occupied the location, and then, after Starbucks vacated, it was home to Tully’s Coffee.

Earlier this year, The Woods Coffee opened their eleventh coffee shop in another former Tully’s Coffee location, on the Guide Meridian in Bellingham. The opening of the newest Woods Coffee location comes on the verge of the company’s 10-year anniversary, which it will celebrate shortly after the start of the new year. “Haggen is very excited to have Wes and his family open their first in-retail location at our Sehome store,” said C.J. ”Gabe” Gabriel, CEO of Haggen Foods. ”We’ve watched Wes and his team since their first store in 2002 and it’s clear to us that Woods Coffee Company shares our same Northwest values and a commitment to excellence. When the opportunity came to have Woods Coffee join our Sehome store we thought it was a perfect fit.”

The Woods Coffee’s new, Sehome location will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, and it will open at 6 a.m. the following day to serve customers during its regular hours (until 8 p.m.). The coffee shop’s first full day will be just in time for “Western Wednesday,” when every Western Washington University student, faculty or WWU Alumni Association member is invited to enjoy a free cup of Woods’ drip coffee. Customers who meet the Western Wednesday criteria will need to show their valid WWU ID card, be wearing WWU clothing (including lapel pins) and present a travel mug to qualify for the free coffee.
